Ruee's Dogs

Wi Ski

21 November 1999 - 16 January 2004

It was love at first sight, when we saw you at the Headdown Rally while you were being fostered. It wasn't long after that, that you came and joined our Pack. You soon made friends with the others.
Your love for food made us laugh especially when you did your impersonation of a circus seal. Soon you were running in harness with Jack who was to become your best friend.
Your bond with Ryan astounded us, you'd walk for miles, explore many things, trained and & worked in harness together. I never worried when the two of you were together. We all adored you but what you had with Ryan was so special, we'll never forget that. Things just aren't the same without you. Hike On Wi-Ski

Princess

15 January 1992 - 05 May 2001

We owe you so much and were so privileged to have owned you. You were incredible. You took care of everyone, human or animal, young or old. It didn't matter to you.
We'll never forget our runs on Salisbury Plain, the soldiers' who'd pop their heads out of their tanks, point at you and say "Is that your Dog?" as you'd happily play chase with them.
Not a day goes by when we don't think of you. We miss you so much

Jack (Jack's the Lad for Ruee)

1 July 1998 - 10 February 2005

You came to us when you were just 10 months old. from Battersea's Belle Mead Kennel. My Perfect Agility Partner I thought! But you had other ideas. You told us you wanted to be a sled dog like the others and that's what you became. Your enthusiasm for the sport was incredible.
You looked after me and protected me. You made me feel safe.
I know you missed your running partner, Playmate and Bin Raiding Partner. I knew eventually you'd be reunited, just hoped it wasn't going to be so soon.
Miss you my Special Jack the Lad. That's how I'll always remember you. Ruee's Jack the Lad

Lend me a Pup

I'll lend to you for a while,
a pup, God said,
For you to love him while he lives
and mourn for him when he's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years,
or maybe two or three
But will you, 'till I call him back,
take care of him for me.

He'll bring his charms to gladden you
and (should his stay be brief)
you'll always have his memories
as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught below
I want this pup to learn.

I've looked the whole world over
in search of teachers true
And from the folk that's crowd's life's land
I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love
Nor think the labour vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take my Pup back again.

I fancied that I heard them say
"Dear Lord Thy will be done,"
For all the joys this Pup will bring,
the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness
we'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay
But should you call him back
much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
and try to understand.
If, by our love, we've managed,
your wishes to achieve
In memory of him we loved,
to help us while we grieve,
When our faithful bundle departs this world of strife,
We'll have yet another Pup and love him all his life.
